App Review: Trafficmaster Companion

I’ve already reviewed the CoPilot Live satellite navigation app for the iPhone, which I found to be almost like having a whole extra gadget inside my iPhone. One of the commenters on that review suggested I take a look at Trafficmaster Companion, which integrates routing based on live traffic data.

This is a very different kind of satnav app – there are no maps included at all, and very few user-configurable options. The philosophy of this app is very different to the traditional, “do everything” satnav from TomTom and Garmin.

So in this case, is less more?

iPhone case giveaway – Pro/Tec Executive and Energy, and VOi! Lorem

I’ve recently reviewed some more different cases and covers for the iPhone:

Pro/Tec’s battery-charging Energy, and their soft leather Executive, as well as Griffin’s elan form.

Well, the Griffin’s already been snaffled by a mate (sorry!), but I’m going to give the two Pro/Tec cases away. However, I do have another case knocking around which I’ll throw in.

Review: Griffin elan form case for iPhone 3G and 3GS

I’ve already looked two cases for the iPhone 3G & 3GS from Pro/Tec – the Executive and Energy.

The final case I was given by Memory Card Zoo was the Griffin elan form graphite. I thought it was a bit bling, but gradually warmed to it.

Review: Pro/Tec Energy case for iPhone 3G and 3GS

I’ve already looked at Pro/Tec’s Executive leather case, and now I’m moving on to their Energy case, which contains a battery to keep your iPhone going.

I’ve never tried one of these recharging cases before, so let’s see how I got on.

iPhone case giveaway – Proporta, VOi Lorem and iWrap

Proporta’s Soft Feel silicon case

VOi’s Lorem hard shell case, and

iWrap’s protective film.

And now I’m going to give them away!

Review: iWrap cover for iPhone

I’ve recently reviewed the Proporta Soft Feel Silicon Case and the VOi! Lorem. Lastly in this series of case reviews is the iWrap.

This is a totally different proposition – it’s not a case, it’s a plastic cover, but it goes over the whole phone. And you need to use adhesive to stick it on.

To be honest, I was a bit worried about what was going to happen to my iPhone when I took this review on.

Review: VOi! Lorem case for iPhone 3G and 3GS

I’ve already reviewed the Proporta Soft Feel Silicon Case, and next up in my series of case reviews is the VOi! Lorem. I was quite impressed with the Proporta case, but this one is different – it’s a hard case with changeable front pieces.

Plus, it’s the only case Ive seen with an integrated lanyard in the back, to help you hold on to your iPhone.

Will it be enough tempt me away from the Proporta case?

Review: Proporta Soft Feel Silicon Case for iPhone 3G and 3GS

I have a few iPhone cases to review, and I’m going to kick off with one from Proporta. I’ve always had a silicon case for my iPhones, as I have a tendency to drop them. I’ve reviously been using a cheap silicon case for my iPhone 3G from Carphone Warehouse, which I reviewed in an earlier article.

That case was a bargain at a tenner, whereas Proporta’s Soft Feel Silicon Case for iPhone 3G and 3GS is five pounds more.

So how does the pricier case compare?

App Reviews: Phaze, International Athletics, MouthOff

The main focus of this site is (hopefully) informed commentary, and news we’ve unearthed ourselves. We also like to provide you with in-depth reviews. But, being a mostly volunteer-run site, there’s not enough time to review everything that comes through the door, and personally I have quite a backlog of apps to look at.

So in a series of posts, I’m going to have a quick look at apps that I’ve promised developers I’ll review – ones that I’m reviewing because I thought they are interesting, and either highlighted how powerful the iPhone platform is, or just made me smile.

I’ve already looked at Pixi, Orbital and CalenGoo, and SPB Brain Evolution, iDroidsMania and Copy Share.

For the last in this series of posts, we have Phaze, International Athletics, and MouthOff.
